Kekkai Sensen, also known as Blood Blockade Battlefront, is a manga created by Yasuhiro Nightow. It started as a one-shot in Shueisha’s Jump Square magazine on May 2, 2008, focusing on vampire hunting in a modern city. A short three-chapter series followed from January to March 2009. Another one-shot came out in Jump SQ.M on October 23, 2009.

The main Kekkai Sensen manga series began in Jump SQ.19 on May 19, 2010, and ended on February 19, 2015, with ten volumes released between January 2010 and April 2015. Dark Horse Comics released the English version from September 2011 to July 2018. A sequel, Blood Blockade Battlefront: Back 2 Back, ran from July 2015 to January 2018 in Jump SQ.Crown and then in Jump SQ.Rise from April 2018 to April 2022, also with ten volumes.

The third series, Blood Blockade Battlefront: Beat 3 Peat, started in October 2022 in Jump SQ.Rise. Kekkai Sensen anime adaptation, produced by Bones, had a 12-episode first season airing from April to October 2015 and a 12-episode second season from October to December 2017.
